Celebrating the Life of Alice F. James


Sunrise Sept. 28, 1948 – Sunset: Oct.13, 2020


Alice was born to Mae and Henry Campbell in Toppenish, WA. The family moved to Seattle when she was a very young girl. She became a member of New Hope Baptist Missionary Church as a child and was a devout Christian. Alice graduated from Garfield High School. Alice began a career in theatre and music after high school and performed professionally in venues in New York, Los Angeles, and across the U.S. After her professional career she relocated to Seattle, WA. Alice retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance after 24 years of employment receiving numerous awards for her service.


She retained her membership at New Hope Baptist Missionary Church and eventually became the Church Choir Director and taught Sunday School. Alice was a prolific, spirit-filled vocalist. She shared her God-given musical gift with the Seattle church community in song and praise, inspiring and moving people to be closer to God through her voice.


Alice has moved on to the next life to join Her parents Mae and Henry Campbell and her siblings Carl James, Ernest, Jimmy, Frances, Kevin and Juanita. Alice leaves to cherish Her memory Daughter Mikayla (Grandson), Sister Leslie Campbell Gore, Nephews, James Williams, Minister Gary E. Vincent, Gerald and Jimmy Allen, Ernest, Frank and John Paul Allen, Jamal Campbell, Victor 3rd, Marquis and LeVaughn McVea; Neices, Sabriya Williams, Grant, Jamila Wyatt Frone, (JaSun), Aisha Berkely, (Cornelius), Angie Allen, Kisha Burns, Jazmen Owens, Essence Billinger; Great nephews and nieces and a host of other family , friends , and loved ones. “Love and Great Art”. Special Thanks to the New Hope Baptist Church ministry for providing Alice with communion through the years, and all your prayers, and condolences.
