Pastor Bates departed this life peacefully in his home on August 7, 2025 surrounded by the love of his wife Sister Bates and daughter Britni Bates.

A celebration of Pastor Bates’ life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Holy Temple Evangelistic Center, located at 12600 Renton Ave South, in Seattle, WA 98178. A viewing will be held at 10:00am.  The celebration of life service will follow at 11:00am; officiated by Bishop Willie McClain. Graveside to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Renton, WA.  Please honor Pastor Bates by wearing shades of red and black.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of love and contributions be directed to the Good Shepard Non-Denominational Church in care of the Bates Family, 4831 South Garden Street, Seattle, WA 98118.
