Come meet a well-appreciated artist Rodney H King, originally from St. Louis, Mo. but a native son raised in the Central District. Rodney has built his art career of visual story telling that archives Black History in all its glory, highlighting iconic figures and places through his abstract eye and techniques. He is currently being featured throughout the month of April at Taswira. Established in 2022, Taswira is known as Seattle’s only African Art Gallery. Founded through their ongoing development of a women’s empowerment center in Kenya and their unique partnerships with indigenous tribes, the TASWIRA Gallery introduces a unique experience that connects the community through modern and ancestoral collaborations through art and various events.
