Water Service Expected to Be Restored by Late Thursday Evening
SEATTLE (April 3, 2025) – SPU crews are working to restore water service to the Crown Hill neighborhood as quickly and safely as possible following a water main break that impacted nearly 3,000 households and businesses late Wednesday night. The broken main has now been repaired, and water service is being restored gradually in the area and should be complete for most customers by late Thursday evening. Customers could experience varied water pressure as the main is refilled.
As a precaution, residents and businesses in the affected area with restored water service are still advised to boil water before drinking it or use bottled water through Saturday.
SPU will start flushing the water main around 4 p.m. today, which may cause temporary discoloration and sediment. Additionally, water quality testing will be conducted over the next 48 hours to ensure the water is safe to drink.
An update will be provided when the precautionary boil water advisory is no longer in place. More information at AtYourService.Seattle.gov.
