Father-and-Son Stage Musical Show Brings Black Fatherhood, Music and Healing to Seattle

What do fathers and sons lose when the most important words are never spoken?

After selling out its Tacoma premiere and earning a standing ovation, Said by the Father and Son comes to Seattle for one night only. Father-and-son duo Leon Walker and Rob Young Walker transform the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute into their family living room, where poetry, hip hop, jazz, soul, gospel, storytelling, African art, and cinematic visuals become one unforgettable conversation between generations.

This is not a perfect portrait of family. It is an honest one. The production confronts Black fatherhood, silence, grief, faith, accountability, identity, forgiveness, and the love that survives even when families struggle to express it. Jazz carries the wisdom of the father; hip hop carries the urgency of the son.
