Help shape community investment. Join Community Reinvestment Program's Local Advisory Teams!

The Washington State Department of Commerce is inviting community members to join Local Advisory Teams (LATs). These teams will help decide how Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) funding is used to support local violence prevention efforts.

As a LAT member, you’ll have real influence over funding decisions. LATs will help oversee $7 million in violence prevention funding for:

  • Mentorship programs for youth and young adults (ages 14–24)

  • Help with school, job training and career planning

  • Basic needs support like transportation and food

  • Cultural and healing-centered activities

  • Connecting youth to education and employment services

Who should apply?

We welcome individuals with lived experience, grassroots leaders, youth advocates and community leaders. Experience in community development, violence prevention or youth engagement is a plus.

Stipends and support may be available to support participation, depending on each region and availability.

Apply by 11:59 p.m. PT on January 21, 2026.

Opening next week: Funding to help support CRP's Local Advisory Teams

Starting January 20, Commerce will begin accepting applications from qualified organizations to help support CRP's LATs as regional intermediaries.

Organizations selected as LAT intermediaries will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the formation, onboarding and ongoing facilitation of LATs

  • Providing grantmaking and fiscal management support for regional violence prevention investments

  • Offering technical assistance and capacity building to community based by-and-for organizations

  • Partnering with Commerce and local stakeholders to ensure a transparent, inclusive and accountable funding process

Commerce will award up to 12 grants between $271,000 and $1,232,000. The majority of these funds will be used for CRP's LATs to pass through funds to organizations in their community that deliver services.

Stay tuned to learn more about this funding opportunity!
