It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Aquilla Cole-Leslie, a devoted nurse, entrepreneur, and community leader whose compassion and strength touched countless lives.
Aquilla was born September 14, 1931, in Beckville, Texas, to William and Willie Maude Hicks. After moving to Tacoma, she built a remarkable life dedicated to service and excellence. For more than 65 years, Aquilla was a devoted member of Allen AME Church.
Aquilla was the heart of her family — a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025.
Aquilla is survived by her husband, Wilbert Leslie and daughter, Gwen White. Viewing, Friday, October 31, at Allen AME Church 1223 MLK Jr. Way Tacoma, WA from 2-4pm. Funeral Saturday November 1 at Allen AME Church at 11am. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial University Place.
