In Loving Memory of Barbara J. Emmons


Barbara Jean Emmons,

On Monday, January 10th, 2022, in Cummings, GA. Barbara passed away. Barbara Jean was Born in Yakima, Washington, to Chester Thomas Emmons & Olivia Lavenia Taylor. In 1956 she graduated from Naches Valley High School, Naches, WA. She attended Walla / College. While living in Seattle she was a member of first AME Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir. At the age of 72 she retired from Proliance Orthopedic Surgeons and move to the Atlanta, GA area to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara loved her grandchildren dearly she enjoyed family dinners reflecting her time on her parent’s farm in Yakima, WA, and she always encouraging the great-grandchildren to work hard in school. Barbara is preceded in dead by her parents Chester Emmons & Olivia Taylor, brothers Basil Emmons and Forrest Emmons; she is survived by her daughter Kim Dow, son in law Lloyd Dow lll of Rosharon, TX; son Mario Hunter of Renton, WA; her sister Charlotte Wright of California; her four granddaughters; Stephanie Norwood and (son-in-law Jerious Norwood), Porsche Procter, Diamond Chenault, Sade Devereux (son-n-law Dominique Devereux); eight great-grandchildren Skye Lancaster, Ja’nyla Norwood, Jerious Norwood Jr, Kalvyn Devereux, Zechariah Devereux, Kamryn Devereux, Jett Norwood, N’eosha Devereux and a host of cousins and friends that lives in the Seattle area
