In Loving Memory of Jerod Allan Lavert

Jerod Allan Lavert, age 51, passed away on June 1, 2026. Born in Seattle, Washington, on September 18, 1974 to Beverly Hampton and Howard Lavert.


Jerod lived a life filled with music, laughter, friendship and adventure. He attended Renton High School and majored in Business at South Carolina State University. Known affectionately as "Vert" and simply "That Guy" — cool, laid-back, genuine and respected — he carried himself with a quiet confidence that always earned admiration.

Jerod had a deep passion for music. Founding his own company-The Kandy Store he created CDs and playlists for friends and DJ'd at many gatherings. He was a devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Boston Celtics. He was a skilled basketball player who could dunk with ease.

He inherited a cabin in Concrete Washington and converted it into a successful AirBNB, He also drove for Uber and Lyft, leaving a warm impression on all who rode with him.

Jerod is preceded in death by his father Howard Lavert. He is survived by his mother Beverly Hampton, stepfather Bruce Hampton, sister Devon Hampton (Bicbae Injneba) Los Angeles, his niece and four nephews, Aunt Barbara Levert, long-time friend Matilda Valadez and a host of friends and relatives.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 12pm. Immaculate Conception Church, 820 18th Ave, Seattle, Washington 98122.
