Myrque Williams was born on September 13, 1929 in Caseyville, Mississippi . She was one of 11 children born to Arch and Alice Hillard. She married T.J. Williams in 1950 and moved to Weed, California. Prior to moving to Weed she lived for a short time in New Orleans, Louisiana and Seattle, Washington. In 1962 she returned to Weed and resided there until 2009.
Myrque accepted Christ as her Savior in 1961 in Seattle, WA. She later joined Wayside Church of God in Christ in Weed, California under the leadership of the late Reverend Theodore Pugh. She was well known for her singing voice and served faithfully in the Music Ministry and as missionary and church mother for almost 60 years. Outside of church activities, Mother Williams enjoyed cooking and fishing.
God called Mother Williams home on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020, surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memory 1 brother, Richard Hillard of Seattle, WA; daughters, Mae Doris Williams, Shonna Williams, Shalawn White (Micah), Seattle, WA; sons Randy Williams, Michael Willis (Valerie), David Williams of Seattle, and Darius Todd Williams of Stockton, CA. 2 Stepdaughters, Geraldine Despanie, Antioch, CA; and Sheila Williams of San Diego, CA. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, family members and friends.
Mother Williams was preceded in death by husband, T.J. Williams; son, Tommie Williams; grandson; Rashawn C. Thompson, and 9 sisters and brothers.
