In Loving Memory of Paul Lawrence Johnson

Paul Lawrence Johnson

August 5, 1952 -April 24, 2025

Paul, known as Larry to his family and childhood friends, was born and raised in Seattle. He grew up in the Central District and attended Leschi, Horace Mann, Washington, and Garfield schools.

Paul joined the army on August 31, 1972, and received a medical discharge in 1975. After his military service, he worked as a painter at Boeing and later as a painter and drywall taper in the construction industry. He retired when his VA pension was elevated to 100%.

From a young age, Paul was particular about his appearance. He had impeccable taste and liked nice things, ensuring he never left the house—even in jeans and a T-shirt—until he was satisfied with how he looked.

Paul was a true and devoted friend, always someone you could count on. He was kind-hearted and ready to help in any way he could. He was also very generous with his friends and family, always wanting the best for them.

He dearly loved his girlfriend, Sherrie Bonner, his niece, Michelle Williams, and his sister, Elaine [Johnson] Williams. He would do anything for them.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Paul Sr. and Johnnie Johnson, his niece, Michelle, and his girlfriend, Sherrie. He is survived by his sister, Elaine, who misses him beyond description.

A burial service will be held at 1:00 PM on May 9, 2025, at Lake View Cemetery, 1554 15th Ave E., Seattle, WA 98122.. Information regarding the memorial service will be provided at a later date.
