In Loving Memory of Paula Jean West

Paula Jean West, 84, passed away peacefully February 28, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on December 22, 1941, in Galveston, Texas, to Johnnie Mae Davis and Norman Anderson West, Sr., she was raised in Seattle, Washington, alongside her brother, Norman A. West, Jr.

She graduated from Garfield High School and attended Portland State University. Following her marriage, Paula raised six children as a single working mother, supporting their accomplishments in her own way. She also was a successful businesswomen, creating opportunities and leading with faith.

Paula was a force of nature who refused to let the world or anyone in it make her small. Fierce, funny, and full of energy, she met life’s challenges head-on, inspiring her family and friends with her determination and persistence. Her spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Ultimately, what mattered most to her in the end was simple: being with her children. Her strength and independence shaped many lives, leaving a legacy of perseverance.

Paula will be laid to rest in Seattle, Washington, beside her mother and brother at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park.

She is survived by her five children, Steve, Leah, Greg, Lance, and Lonzo, and nineteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shay. Paula also leaves extended family and friends whose lives she touched.

Rest in peace Mrs. Paula, I remember her as a child she was a sweet lady my Momma’s friend Bettie. My deepest condolences to her family.
