Robert Gene Buren passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1937, in Mound City, Illinois to George and Muszette Buren. When he was seven years old his family moved to Seattle., In 1953 at the age of sixteen, Bobby joined the Air Force and worked as a cryptographer. He's had many jobs since then and retired from the UW Transportation Department in 1997 after 25 years of service. He went on to work for Access Transportation as a bus driver then as a security guard at Muckleshoot Casino. He was also a volunteer for Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims (now Victim Support Services).
Bobby's life was defined by his strength and dedication to family. He brought joy to everyone he met. He will be missed!
Bobby is preceded in death by father, George, mother, Muszette, siblings, Shirley, David, Charles, Idabelle, Ronnie, Curtiss, former wife Dorothy, their son, George, and daughter, Renee, and daughter, Susie. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kris, daughter, Carrie, daughter-in-law, Shelby, and a host of nieces and nephews.
