It’s Time to Show Up, Seattle! Volunteer Registration Opens Today for 2026 Citywide Day of Service

SEATTLE, WA (September 2, 2026) – Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle Parks & Recreation, Community School – West Seattle, and community partners held a press event earlier today to launch volunteer recruitment for Show Up, Seattle!, Day of Service, the annual event which takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Volunteer registration opens today, September 2, 2026, at www.seattle.gov/day-of-service.

“As we celebrate 35 years of the Department of Neighborhoods this year, I can’t think of a better way to honor that legacy than by leading a citywide day of service,” said Quynh Pham, Director, Department of Neighborhoods. “Find a project that speaks to your interests or curiosity, support your local organization. Bring a friend or a family member or set out solo seeking new connections. If you haven’t felt connected to your neighbors or community, this could be your opportunity to reconnect, roll up your sleeves, and show up with the rest of the city.”

Now in its fifth year, Show Up, Seattle! Day of Service brings together volunteers across the city to support neighborhood cleanups, beautification efforts, community gardens, parks, schools, nonprofit organizations, and other community-led service projects. The Department of Neighborhoods now seeks individuals to be part of its annual day of action, volunteer registration is now live as of September 2, 2026. Click here to register to volunteer.

The Department of Neighborhoods also seeks registrations from organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, faith communities, businesses, and residents to host volunteer events for this year’s day of service. Whether it’s cleaning up a neighborhood park, caring for a community garden, supporting a local nonprofit, or organizing another community improvement project, volunteer hosts help create opportunities for neighbors to serve together.
