Learn about our 70% goal

We’re working to ensure that, by the high school class of 2030, 70% of Washington students will earn the credentials they need for career success. Check out our Credential is Essential website to find out how our state can meet this goal. The resources available on the website include:

  • Recent articles about career connected learning, students pursuing postsecondary credentials in STEM, and strategies to help first-generation students navigate college.

  • Research and recommendations for increasing credential attainment, including our January 2021 report about recovering from pandemic-exacerbated crises and reimagining a postsecondary system that better serves Washington students, which includes colleges and universities’ commitments to increase enrollment and completion.

  • Case studies from school districts that are increasing postsecondary enrollment among their students, including Chehalis, which has an active partnership with Centralia College and strong student supports.
