Ms Ida Mae’s College Bound Scholarship

Applications for Ms Ida Mae's College Bound Scholarship will begin 6 November 2025; the deadline for applications is 6 May 2026. This scholarship was established by the children of Ida Mae Foster Whittaker, a community activist who was part of social change and equal justice in Seattle; late in life she also was a resident of Skyway and Tacoma.

Ms Ida Mae’s College Bound Scholarship is for high school seniors in the Seattle, Renton, Tacoma area who plan to attend college immediately after high school graduation. In 2025, Garfield High School graduate Japhia McRae was selected as Ms Ida Mae’s scholar.
