The Philharmonia Campus Orchestra this Saturday, May 30, at Meany Hall for the Performing Arts.

The 3 PM concert is free and open to the public.

Tyree was selected as the winner of the 2026 Key to Change UW Concerto Competition through the organization’s partnership with the University of Washington School of Music. This annual competition gives one student the opportunity to perform with the university’s philharmonic orchestra. During the concert, Tyree will perform the third and fourth movements of Telemann's Viola Concerto in G Major.

A sophomore at Garfield High School, Tyree is quickly emerging as one of the region’s promising young violists. Earlier this year, he participated in a public masterclass taught by internationally-acclaimed violinist Hilary Hahn during her residency at Key to Change, and made his solo debut with the Federal Way Symphony Orchestra at Benaroya Hall.

Tyree studies viola with Mara Gearman, assistant principal violist of the Seattle Symphony, and Dr. Quinton Morris at Key to Change, a nonprofit violin and viola studio serving middle and high school students in South King County.
