The 13th Annual Jackson Street Jazz Festival Takes Over Seattle’s Central District! Seattle’s iconic late-summer music tradition returns on Saturday, Sept 12th at 4:30 PM

transforming South Jackson Street into an open-air celebration of the historic Central District’s African American music legacy. Formally known as the Jackson Street Jazz Walk, the Jackson Street Jazz Festival brings 20 exceptional acts across 12 community stages to deliver non-stop deep grooves and fabulous Northwest talent.

🎷 Festival Highlights

  • Massive Multi-Genre Lineup: Experience dynamic sets spanning Jazz, Afro-Latin, Funk, Blues, World Jazz, and Soul—complete with exclusive panoramic rooftop performances.

  • Featured Showcases: Catch stellar live music from Seattle legends and rising mainstays including the D’Vonne Lewis Quartet,  Alex Dugdale FADE-Tet,  Eugenie Jones, The David Holden band Grown Foux, The Ari Joshua Quartet, The Joe Brazil Legacy Tribute Band,  and the global sounds of SERICA.

  • Introducing The Listening Room: Sit in on intimate, couch-lounge conversations with two-time Grammy nominee, master trumpeter, and jazz bandleader Nathan Breedlove.

  • Movement & Living History: Watch incredible live dancing by the Pivot Dance Emporium and explore interactive historical pop-ups documenting the Central District's legendary music heyday from the 1940s to the 1960s.

🎨 Art, Food, and Community Vibe

Co-presented with the nearby Pratt Fine Arts Center, festival-goers can also explore Pratt’s interactive Open House, featuring live glass-blowing exhibitions, hands-on artistic activities, and creator demonstrations. Between stages, enjoy deep local culinary roots, cold drinks in the outdoor 21+ garden, and a vibrant community atmosphere under the late-summer sky.

Best of all, music supports a cause—festival proceeds provide a direct financial give-back gift to Wa Na Wari, fueling the vital preservation of Black art and historic community spaces right in the District.
