The Odunde Festival Presents

REUNION: Continuing The Legacy

A Community Celebration of West African Drumming, Dance & Song!

Adefua Cultural Education Workshop is celebrating 36 years of presenting West African culture in the Pacific Northwest! It's our annual fund-raiser! Join us in this community celebration!

Our committed work of teaching and performing in the Schools and Community has been with your tremendous support! Your support has shown up in different ways, and we're grateful and enthused with this year’s REUNION with Alumni and current artists! The festival will highlight the reunification of artists, who are musicians, dancers, and singers. Adefua collaborates with many African teaching and performing artists, their families, students, and friends, to present community-driven cultural arts-based events.

Date: Saturday, November 20, 2021. The performance is

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Location: Rainier Arts Center

(Columbia City area)

3515 South Alaska Street,

Seattle, WA 98118.

The African Marketplace doors will open at 3:30 PM, and entertainment begins at 5:00 PM. The Odunde Performance is a ONE NIGHT event that will offer great food, networking, fun artists to meet and greet, fantastic music, and dance presentations. There will be hundreds of African artifacts, clothing, instruments, and cultural gifts for your holiday shopping!

REUNION is a production directed and performed by Seattle's very own Nailah Bulley. Music is arranged and performed by our Historian/Griot, Boka Kouyaté. Adefua's Executive Director, Afua Kouyaté, is passing the Baton. The excitement of a live performance calls our community together to see the inter generational presence of our elders in performance and passing culture onto the young children: the past, present, and future lives on. Spotlight Performances by; Kutt N’ Up Entertainment, Franchesska Berry, Kine Camara, Alvedo Hobson, Foluso Mimy, Naby Camara, Chisula Koumbassa, Marvine Faty, Pauline Harris, Ashanti Proctor, Trina Washington, Kwame Harris and more. The legacy of ADEFUA is all on one stage!

We are now reaching out to encourage you to join us. This year our tickets are family-based to enable you to share this opportunity with others. With your donation to our 501(c)(3), the funds raised will be utilized to sponsor, in part, an ongoing weekly class scholarship for youth and families. Your support will aid in extending community networking for youth, families, and schools. We’re committed to sharing cross-cultural experiences.

We’re also seeking new board members and volunteers! Inquire at our Adefua event Table. www.adefuacenter.org
