Welcome to The New Skyway Resource Center

Skyway Resource Center

Groundbreaking Ceremony was on Jan. 18th

The Skyway Resource Center (SRC) launched in September 2020 after a year of planning and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing free resources to families that reside in Skyway/West Hill and the Renton Highlands communities. The Skyway Resource Center works with community-based organizations that provide tangible resources to meet the community's basic needs.

After the Skyway Resource Center acted as a drive-through and walk-up multi-service center, Skyway residents advocated that the only local bank branch, which closed operations, to donate the building for community use. After US Bank donated its Skyway Branch building to King County Housing Authority, the Renton Innovation Zone Partnership (RIZP) and Schemata Workshop partnered to lead the planning to make this building the permanent home of the Skyway Resource Center.

The day of celebration was hosted by The Renton Innovation Zone Partnership (RIZP) in partnership with King County Housing Authority. Guest speakers include: Rhonda Lewis (Office of King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay), Bruce Siqueland (US Bank), Dan Watson (King County Housing Authority), Rebecca Zapata (Skyway Coalition), and Ryan Quigtar (RIZP). The ceremony caps off with nearly three years of planning through a guided community design process and will mark the beginning of the first multi-service center in Skyway, WA.
