In Loving Memory Joyce M. Fields


Joyce Marie Fields

Joyce was born on March 6, 1930, in Beaumont, TX. God called her home February 1, 2022. She moved to Seattle, WA where she met and married Frank Fields Jr. They divorced some years later, but during their union was born 2 children Frank Michael Fields and Michelle Marie Fields. She is survived by her children, granddaughter, La’Shelle (Michael) Chandler, great-grandson, Benjamin and a host of other family and friends.

She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist church for over 50 years. She was a sports enthusiast, her favorite sport being football. She was an avid reader, loved bowling, bingo, and politics. Her rich contribution to civil rights was influential in getting job opportunities and programs for minorities. Her dedication to equal rights assisted in helping to bring Martin Luther King, Jr to Seattle for the march during the civil rights era.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 17, at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery.
