Bessie Porter was born August 30th 1956 to Clarence & Caroline Groce in Pensacola, FL. She moved to Seattle, WA with her husband James Porter in the 1970’s.
Bessie was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She loved to cook, which she was amazing at. Bessie’s all-time favorite thing to do was shop, dress and get her hair done along with her nails.
Before falling ill, she took care of her mother Caroline. The two were inseparable. Together they loved singing childhood songs to pass time and would even add some dance moves to go along with it.
Bessie was preceded in death by her daughter, Aliah Duckworth, her father, Clarence Groce and her former husband, James Porter. She is survived by her mother, Caroline Groce; her 3 children Marcus Porter, Erica Perkins, and Jamie Porter; her 2 brothers Willie & Mathew Anderson; her 2 sisters Sandra Alexander & Amy McKinnon; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Bessie Porter will always be loved and forever in our hearts. The funeral service will be held March 28th South side Church of Christ 12200 59th Ave S Seattle Wa 98178.
