After an early scare, the Seattle Seahawks showed why they have the NFL’s best record when it comes to playing on Monday Night. The early scare and unfortunate event was safety Jamal Adams getting kneed to the head and being ruled out of the game due to a concussion. Adams according to head coach Pete Carroll will be fine. After Monday's 24-2 demolition of the Giants on Monday Night the Seahawks are off for a week. It is there scheduled by week. As for the demolition of the Giants, the Seahawk's defense led the way. Going into the game the Seahawk's defense was ranked last in the NFL when it came to pass defense run defense the Seahawks were ranked no 4. The Giants were 1-2 going into the game with 24th-ranked defense. Their offense was ranked number 28th. So the opportunity was there for the Seahawks to build on their two-game win streak. And oh boy did the Hawks defense seize the opportunity. The Hawks recorded 11 sacks to tie the team record for most sacks in the game. The Seahawks defense held the Giants to just 248 total yards, no touchdowns, and had two interceptions. One was a game-breaking 97-yard return by rookie Devon Witherspoon. The other was by safety Quandre Diggs. Needless to say, Hawks head coach Pete Carroll was pleased with his team's effort. A bunch of guys played on the pass rush today. Everybody figured in on the pass rush today, which was great. It just reminds us that we're just getting started, we're just getting going. We're just putting it together and a night like this for our defense to be able to play that that explosively, three turnovers and whatever, double-digit sacks – I can't remember seeing double-digit sacks. A scary moment for the Seahawks was in the second quarter when quarterback Geno Smith was tackled and his knee was bent back during the tackle. A scary moment for Smith and the Seahawks team. Fortunately, the injury was minor and Smith returned to start the second half and finish the game. “Yeah, initially, I just was kind of in shock a little bit, just from being rolled up on and having my leg pretty much trapped under the guy. “ Smith said in his post-game interview. “ It was some slight pain, but overall, I was just happy that I came out okay so, whatever the case is, God's good.” With the victory, the Seahawks are now 3-1 on the season and have now earned themselves a few days of R&R
