In Loving Memory of Dana Nicole D'Gene Black

Dana Nicole D’Gene Black was born April 22, 1976, in Seattle Washington to Helen Ann Black and Davy Gene Sanders. Dana was the first child born to this union. Her baby sister Iana was the second born in 1979. Dana was the middle child and her sister Mia was the oldest. Dana idolized Mia and loved Iana “Nana” as the family called her. During both Dana and Iana’s younger years Dana had to step up as the big sister and provide her baby sister a life -saving bone marrow transplant which she did with honor. The trio of sisters were extremely close. Dana passed away unexpectedly during the evening of Thursday December 2, 2021.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mia A. Buford (Emery) and Iana D. Black and life partner Shannon D. Hatten, God mother Letha Neal Gray (Howard). She is survived by her brother Damon Sanders, Niece, Emary Warren (Santanna) Nephew, Nissim Black (Adina,) Niece, Tatiana (Sean) Niece, Nevaeh Aunts: Aletha Johnson (Dana), Mary Harris (Grover), Lorraine Stuckey (Michael) Sharon Stuckey and Uncle Byron Stuckey in addition to a host of great nieces, great aunts, and nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

In celebration of Dana’s life a memorial service will be from 3pm-6pm Friday, January 14, 2022 at Prince Hall Masonic Temple 306 24th Ave S Seattle, WA 98144.
