Sunrise: April 21, 1942 ----------

Sunset: March 26, 2022

Mrs. Janiece Marie Jackson, daughter of the late Reverend Dr. William P. Johnson and Willie May Johnson, was born April 21, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She completed her elementary school education in Idaho, until the family moved to Seattle, WA in 1955. She was multi-talented, working in the nursing field, teaching emotionally handicapped children in Santa Ana, California. She continued to work with children, and in 1989 it was prophesied that she would be “the spiritual mother of many”. This word spoken over her life became a reality, and she has since impacted the lives of 100’s children and families.

Mrs. Jackson, affectionately known as, Grandma Jackson, grew up attending Mount Baker Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle, where her father W.P. Johnson was the Pastor. After relocating to California, she attended Johnson Chapel AME Church in Santa Ana, California. In her later years she was a member of House of Oaks Ministries, and Board Chair of Northwest Urban Ministries, where she offered significant spiritual, professional and financial contribution. She worked with the University of Washington to facilitate classes for DSHS, and was a strong advocate for reuniting children with their parents.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband of 28 years Carlston Jackson; her children: Raymond Bell, Deryl (Debra) Davis-Bell, Eric Jackson, Jennifer Hall, and Yolanda Bell; a host of devoted grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual children, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 – 9-9:45 AM / 10AM Service Greater Mt. Baker Baptist Church, 2425 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98144.
