In Loving Memory of Vonetta Mangaoang

Vonetta was born March 20, 1978 in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Rainier Beach HS in 1996 and earned a BA from Evergreen. Her community involvement started early. She began coaching in Rainier District Little League at 17, for both girls softball and boys baseball. Netta’s first job was at Stock Market in Rainier Beach. She also worked as a barista and admin assistant, finally landing a legal assistant position at the Attorney General's office. She moved to the offices of the King County Council in 2007, working in various administrative and admin management positions, and eventually became a pro tem hearing examiner in 2017. She left the Council in late 2019. After a prolonged struggle with mental illness, Vonetta took her own life on August 23, 2022.
